Under-19 Asia Cup 2025 Final, IND vs PAK: If match canceled due to rain, India will become champion

Overview:

Now the biggest question is that if India vs Pakistan final match gets washed out due to rain then who will become the winner.

Delhi: The ACC Under-19 Asia Cup 2025 has now reached its crucial juncture. Before the tournament gets a new champion, the eyes of cricket lovers are fixed on the weather of Dubai, because the shadow of rain is looming over the final match.

India and Pakistan face each other in the final

By performing brilliantly in the semi-final matches, India and Pakistan have confirmed their respective places in the finals. India won the title match by defeating Sri Lanka by 8 wickets, while Pakistan entered the final by defeating Bangladesh by the same number of wickets. Now both the arch rivals teams will face each other on Sunday, i.e. 21st December at the ICC Academy in Dubai.

Rain increased concern

The weather in Dubai has become a cause for concern before the final match of the tournament. The semi-final matches were also affected due to continuous rain. The first semi-final between India and Sri Lanka was played at the ICC Academy on 19 December, which had to be played 20-20 overs instead of 50 overs due to rain. At the same time, in the second semi-final played at The Sevens Stadium in Dubai, the match between Bangladesh and Pakistan was of 27-27 overs due to rain.

What will happen if the final is cancelled?

Now the biggest question is that if India vs Pakistan final match gets washed out due to rain then who will become the winner. According to the rules of Asian Cricket Council i.e. ACC, there is no provision of reserve day for any match in the Under-19 Asia Cup. If for some reason a match is not completed, the winner is decided on the basis of the points table of the group stage.

India will get the title

In such a situation, if the final match is canceled due to rain, then India will be declared the winner of Under-19 Asia Cup 2025 due to being at the top position in Group A. Now it will be interesting to see whether the weather favors cricket or the trophy is decided without the ball being bowled.
