Punjab : As per the promise of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government is going to launch ‘Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana’ (MMSY) in January 2026. The objective of this scheme is to provide health coverage and financial security to all the families of the state. Under the scheme, cashless health insurance up to Rs 10 lakh will be available to every family. To implement this important scheme, an agreement was signed with United India Insurance Company.

Scheme expansion and health coverage
Earlier, under the Chief Minister Health Scheme, health coverage up to Rs 5 lakh was available only for special categories. It has been doubled in the new MMSY scheme. All residents, government employees and pensioners of Punjab will benefit from this. Under the scheme, every family will get cashless treatment up to Rs 10 lakh every year.

Registration Process and Beneficiary Card
Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh said that this scheme has been designed on the principle of equality. No family will be excluded on the basis of income limit or any other criteria. Registration has been simplified through Common Service Center (CSC) using Aadhaar and Voter ID. After successful registration, every family will get a dedicated MMSY health card. A helpline will also be started soon.

United India Insurance and Framework
United India Insurance Company has been selected for the scheme. This company will provide health coverage to 65 lakh families of the state. Under the scheme, coverage for medical needs ranging from Rs 1,00,000 to Rs 10,00,000 will be provided through the State Health Agency (SHA) Trust. Due to the expertise of the company, the claim settlement and payment process will be fast and effective.
