Underworld don Chhota Rajan's health deteriorated in Tihar Jail, admitted to AIIMS
New Delhi: Underworld Don and Gangster Chhota Rajan has recently been admitted to the Delhi-based All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) due to a health problem. Currently, Chhota Rajan is lodged in Delhi's Tihar Jail and is facing charges of many serious crimes. After being admitted to AIIMS, Delhi Police has made tight security arrangements for his safety in the hospital ward.

Chhota Rajan has been admitted to Delhi AIIMS due to surgery. The ward in the hospital where Rajan is admitted is under strict security of Delhi Police. If doctors are to be believed, minor surgery on his nose will be done here. His operation has not been done yet, doctors' advice will be taken after the operation. After which he will be taken to Tihar. Many cases are registered against Rajan. Chhota Rajan was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2001 for the murder of a hotelier. Since then he is lodged in Tihar Jail.
Chhota Rajan was arrested in 2015
Chhota Rajan was arrested from Indonesia in October 2015 and brought to India. He was arrested at Bali Airport on 25 October 2015, and then deported to India. Since then he is lodged in Tihar Jail.

In May last year, a special court convicted Chhota Rajan of murder of a hotelier and sentenced him to life imprisonment. However, the Bombay High Court suspended his life sentence and released him on bail. Despite this, Chhota Rajan is still in jail in cases of several other crimes.

Chhota Rajan was also acquitted in another case. A sessions court in Mumbai has acquitted Chhota Rajan in the 1999 murder case of Dawood Ibrahim gang member Anil Sharma. Anil Sharma was shot in Andheri area on September 2, 1999, but Rajan was acquitted as no concrete evidence was found in the case. There have been different decisions by the courts on Chhota Rajan's status in many such cases, but he is still involved in several serious criminal cases.
