Condemning the attack on former Jammu and Kashmir CM Farooq Abdullah, Congress MP Pramod Tiwari told PTI, “I am thankful to God that he narrowly escaped that attack. But ever since the special status of Kashmir was removed and Section 370 was removed, the government had claimed that the law and order situation would be better. But, terrorist incidents have increased compared to before… After becoming a union territory, law and order is directly under the control of the Center and Home.” We condemn this attack and hold the Union Home Ministry of the Government of India responsible for it.”

NCP-SP Sharad Pawar wrote in an ex-post, “The firing at the wedding of senior leader Farooq Abdullah and Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chaudhary is a matter of great concern. The good thing is that no one was injured in this incident, which is a matter of great relief. However, such incidents can be serious and dangerous from the public safety point of view. Glad to hear that all the big people are safe. Best wishes for their good health, long life and continued safety.”
