Government’s response to the claims of foreign media, said- ‘Have faith in the country’s agencies’
260 people were killed in this accident that took place on June 12, 2025.
Ahmedabad Plane Crash: Regarding the plane crash that took place in Ahmedabad last year, an Italian newspaper recently claimed that the accident was not due to any technical fault, but due to the pilot deliberately switching off the fuel switch of the engine. Also, in the report, an attempt was made to hold pilot Sumit Sabharwal responsible for this accident and it was claimed to give a clean chit to the Boeing company which was under question.
However, these claims of foreign media have been completely rejected by Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Muralidhar Mohol.
Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Muralidhar Mohol has termed a foreign media report about the investigation into the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad last year as wrong and said that the investigation is still going on.
An Italian newspaper had claimed that the agencies investigating the crash had blamed the pilots in their report. “I just want to tell you all that our investigating agencies are investigating this matter,” Mohol said on Saturday.
He further said, “Should we trust our agencies or outsiders? Our agencies are working on it. Once the final report comes, only then it would be right to comment on it.”
On June 12, 2025, a total of 260 people, including 241 passengers, died when Air India’s Boeing 787-8 aircraft Flight AI171, bound for London Gatwick, crashed shortly after take-off from Ahmedabad.
On Thursday, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) said the investigation was still ongoing and no final findings had been made yet. Media reports saying that the investigation into the accident has been completed are wrong and speculative.
