Unique decree of this Panchayat, if anyone gossips in the village then a fine of Rs 5001 will be imposed, know why the villagers took this decision

Medhki village, located just 4 kilometers away from Balod district headquarters of Chhattisgarh, has set an example to prevent deterioration of social harmony. The people of the village have decided to put an end to ‘gossiping’, the root cause of mutual discord and discord. In an important meeting held on Thursday morning, a resolution was passed unanimously that if any person is found trying to instigate or fight people by talking about someone else, then a fine of Rs 5,001 will be imposed on him.

This tough decision has been taken with the aim of ending the increasing small disputes and mutual animosity in the village. Villagers believe that sometimes small things turn into big matters due to gossip, which spoils the atmosphere of the village.

Why was this decision needed?

There are solid reasons behind making such strict rules in the village. Sarpanch Manjulata Paras Sahu of Gram Panchayat Orma Medhki and senior citizens of the village said that people often get into conflict with each other over small matters. Some people, under the influence of alcohol, make indecent remarks against anyone and make people fight among themselves.

“The harmony of the village deteriorates due to mutual differences, quarreling with each other over small matters and some people making comments against anyone while intoxicated. That is why the villagers have taken this decision unanimously.” – Manjulata Paras Sahu (Sarpanch) and senior citizen.

Another important decision was taken in this meeting. If any person attends any social or religious gathering after consuming alcohol, he will also be imposed a financial penalty of Rs 5,001.

Historic decision taken unanimously

At 8 am on Thursday morning, all the residents of Medhki village called a mass meeting, in which a large number of villagers participated. In this meeting it was decided that whether in public or in private, anyone who gossips will not be spared. This rule will apply equally to all villagers.

Strict steps have also been taken against drugs

This is not the first time that the people of Medhki village have taken such drastic steps for social reform. About 5 years ago, the villagers had taken an important decision to stop the spread of drug addiction in the village. At that time a proposal was passed to impose a heavy fine of Rs 10,000 on those selling liquor illegally in the village. Not only this, a reward of Rs 1,000 was also announced for the person giving information about the liquor seller, so that this social evil can be rooted out.
