New Delhi, 04 April 2026: Abhishek Sharma played an explosive inning of 48 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens. Abhishek, playing with a strike rate of 228.57, created a unique record by hitting four sixers in this innings. He became the second batsman to hit 100 sixes for Sunrisers Hyderabad, leaving behind Kane Williamson and Heinrich Klaasen in this record list.
In the sixth match of IPL 2026, Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and decided to bowl first. Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head gave a strong start to Sunrisers Hyderabad, making a partnership of 82 runs for the first wicket. Head was the first wicketkeeper to fall on the fourth ball of the sixth over, then Ishan Kishan was out in the ninth over. In the ninth over itself, Blessing Muzara Bani also dismissed Abhishek, who scored 48 runs in 21 balls.
Abhishek’s 100 Chagga for SRH
Abhishek Sharma started his IPL career in 2018 playing for Delhi Capitals. The following year, he joined Sunrisers Hyderabad and remained a key member of the franchise. He has hit 100 sixes for the franchise, becoming the second batsman to do so. With 101 runs, he is now only behind former franchise captain David Warner.
For Sunrisers Hyderabad, David Warner has hit 143 sixes in the IPL, while Abhishek Bachchan has hit 101 sixes. Heinrich Klaas has hit 89 sixes, and Kane Williamson has hit 64 sixes.

Number one batsman in ICC T20 ranking, Abhishek has played a total of 79 matches in IPL, in which he has scored 1871 runs in 76 innings. His highest score in IPL is 141, which is also his only century in the league. Abhishek has scored nine half centuries in IPL. Sunrisers Hyderabad’s next match is against Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday, April 5.
