Unnao Rape Case: Supreme Court stays the bail of Kuldeep Sengar, High Court order postponed
The Supreme Court, while hearing the Unnao rape case on Monday, has stayed the order of the Delhi High Court. The High Court had suspended the life imprisonment given to expelled BJP leader Kuldeep Singh Sengar, accused in the case. The Supreme Court has also issued a notice to Sengar on the appeal of CBI against this order of the High Court.
The case will be heard by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, Justice J.K. Maheshwari and a three-member vacation bench of Justice Augustine George Masih. The court has kept the decision of the High Court in abeyance for the time being and has indicated for further hearing in the case.
