UP Politics News: Assembly elections are to be held in UP in 2027. All the parties have already started making strategies regarding this. In this context, political turmoil has also increased in BJP. After the rift in Lok Sabha elections 2024, this time the Sangh is also looking active. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh i.e. RSS has sent a strict message to the BJP leadership before the elections.

A meeting of RSS and BJP was held in Lucknow on 2 December. According to reports, both the issues raised in the meeting and the message were decided by RSS. It was confirmed in the meeting that Yogi Adityanath is the only face in UP. RSS will interfere in everything from ticket distribution to deciding issues. Besides, a message was also given that there are no differences between BJP and RSS like in the Lok Sabha elections.

The Sangh clearly said that the assembly elections to be held in UP in 2027 will be fought under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath. Anyone who questions his leadership will be considered a rebel. This message is not only for the state but also for the national leadership. Let us tell you that before this meeting, on 24 November 2025, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and CM Yogi Adityanath had met in Ayodhya.

RSS’s ‘Mission UP’ launched

Let us tell you that the first RSS meeting was held in the RSS office of Lucknow for about 4.25 hours. Organization Minister BL Santosh, co-government minister Arun Kumar and BJP state president Bhupendra Singh Choudhary were present in this meeting which lasted for about 3 hours. After this another meeting was held in BJP office. CM Yogi Adityanath and both Deputy CMs of UP Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak were also present in it. This meeting lasted for about one and a quarter hour.

Three big messages from RSS in the meeting

1. Seats decreased in Assembly-Lok Sabha elections due to tension, this should not happen again

According to reports, the command of the meeting held in Lucknow was completely in the hands of RSS. It was made clear in the meeting that the responsibility of UP elections will not be completely handed over to the party. RSS will play an important role in the assembly elections and will have a say in everything from strategy to decisions. According to reports, the party had fought the 2022 assembly elections under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath, but during that time questions were raised regarding leadership within the party. Many leaders had come into the race for the post of Chief Minister. The result was that BJP’s seats were reduced by 57 seats as compared to 2017. In 2017, the party had got 312 seats, which will reduce to 255 in 2022.

The effect of this tussle was also visible in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In 2019, BJP got 62 Lok Sabha seats from UP, while in 2024 this number will come down to 33. For this reason, about one and a half years before the elections, RSS has given a message to end any kind of confusion regarding leadership in UP.

It has been made clear by RSS that a situation like 2022 will not be accepted again. Those who question Yogi’s leadership will be considered rebels. Major organizational changes will be made in the party soon. This clearly means that those lobbying against Yogi will be shown the door and some new faces will get a place in the organization. It was also said that this message should not be limited to the meeting only, but should also reach the common people and party workers.

2. Do not give any statement or spread news against Yogi.

The second big message was for the party high command. RSS said that national level leaders of BJP should also not give any statement regarding Yogi Adityanath nor promote controversial news. This message should be strongly conveyed among the public and the opposition that there is no truth in the reports of rift between Yogi and Home Minister Amit Shah or Prime Minister Narendra Modi. RSS also made it clear that Yogi is its first choice. Be it ticket distribution in the elections or selection of the new state president, no decision will be taken without Yogi’s opinion.

3. Big conference of Hindu organizations and saints in UP

According to reports, the third important issue is directly related to election strategy. It was decided in the meeting that a big conference of Hindu organizations and saints will be organized in Uttar Pradesh in 2026. In this, sages, saints and Hindu organizations from across the country will be invited. Senior RSS officials and national leaders of BJP will also attend the conference. Its objective is to give the message of unity to the Hindu society.

90 minute surprise meeting of Yogi-Bhagwat in Ayodhya

On 24 November 2025, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat was present in Ayodhya. He had come to attend the 350th martyrdom day celebrations of Guru Teg Bahadur Singh. Meanwhile, he suddenly reached Ram temple for darshan in the afternoon. In the evening he also went to RSS office ‘Saket Nilayam’ located in Ayodhya. On the same day, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also in Ayodhya. He had come to Ram Temple to take stock of the preparations for the flag hoisting ceremony.
