UP Board 2026: High school and intermediate exams start

More than 52.3 lakh students will appear in the UP Board High School and Intermediate Examination 2026. 8033 examination centers have been set up across the state, where for the first time, room invigilators will be given identity cards containing QR codes. Tight security and special arrangements have been made to prevent copying in 18 sensitive districts.

UP Board Exam 2026 Security Measures: High school and intermediate board exams in Uttar Pradesh will be held from February 18 to March 12, in which more than 52.3 lakh students will participate. 8033 examination centers have been prepared in the entire state, where for the first time the room invigilators will be given identity cards with QR code. Security will be tightened in 18 sensitive districts and strict action will be ensured against the copying mafia. This step has been taken to make the examination process transparent and secure.

A total of 52,30,297 students are registered in UP Board Exam 2026. Of these, 27,50,945 students are from high school and 24,79,352 students are from intermediate. In view of such a large number of candidates, 8033 examination centers have been created in the entire state.

According to the board, all the centers will be monitored through CCTV cameras. The responsibilities of the center administrators have been fixed and the local administration has also been instructed to play an active role, so that the examination process remains transparent and smooth.

Strict system of QR code ID and room inspectors

This year UP Board has implemented a new system. For the first time, identity cards containing QR codes are being issued to room inspectors. These identity cards have been made available on the board’s portal from February 10, 2026, so that fake inspectors can be completely banned.

District school inspectors of all the districts have been instructed to ensure deployment of adequate number of room inspectors by 12th February. For this, it has been asked to coordinate with the Basic Education Officer, so that there is no shortage of staff at any examination centre.

Strict monitoring in sensitive districts

This time the UP Board has declared 18 districts as sensitive, which include districts like Agra, Prayagraj, Azamgarh, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Gonda and Mathura. Special vigilance will be taken regarding certain topics and dates in these districts.

The board has clearly said that strict action will be taken against the copying mafia and those spreading chaos. The examination will be conducted under the supervision of police and administration. Besides, arrangements for first aid and cleanliness will also be made mandatory for the students and staff.
