UP by-election: There is increased political activity regarding the by-elections to be held on 9 assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh. BJP and Samajwadi Party have intensified their preparations for the elections. Amidst all this, a big news is coming out from the sources. It is being said that the date of UP by-election can be extended. Discussion has started on voting for by-elections in UP on 20th November instead of 13th November.

In fact, recently, a delegation of BJP's ally Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) had reached the Chief Election Commission of the state, where the delegation had demanded to extend the date of by-election to be held on November 13 for Meerapur assembly seat. RLD's national spokesperson Anil Dubey had said that, we met the Chief Election Commission and demanded to extend the date of by-election for Meerapur seat. Ganga bath is on 13th November, hence the people there will be busy in Ganga bath program. In such a situation, the voting percentage will decrease, due to which a demand was made to hold voting on 20th November.
BJP wrote letter to Election Commission
BJP also wrote a letter to the Election Commission to extend the date of by-election. In this letter, an appeal was made on behalf of BJP that the date of voting should be changed from 13th November to 20th November. It is written in the letter that the bathing festival and worship of Kartik Purnima has religious significance in UP. The bathing festival of Kartik Purnima is on 15th November 2024 and a large number of people go to bathe and worship on Kartik Purnima. Along with this, people leave 3-4 days in advance to attend the fair on the occasion of Kartik Purnima in Kundarki, Mirapur, Ghaziabad and Prayagraj.
BJP did not declare the names of the candidates
Let us tell you that BJP has not yet announced the names of the candidates. It is being said that the names of the candidates have been approved and the party can announce it soon. At the same time, if the date of by-election is advanced then one more week's time will be available.
