Yogi cabinet expansion approved! A big announcement can be made any time, know who will become the minister and whose card will be cut?
UP Cabinet Expansion: Once again there are signs of major changes in the politics of Uttar Pradesh. The important meetings held at the BJP headquarters in Lucknow on Sunday and the subsequent sudden visit of State President Pankaj Chaudhary to Delhi have intensified the discussions about cabinet expansion and reshuffle in the organization. It is believed that this stir could be part of the preparations for the 2027 assembly elections, even though top leaders of the party are currently busy with election campaigns in other states.
Round of meetings from Lucknow to Delhi
BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde reached Lucknow on a two-day visit, where he held several important meetings with the state leadership. During this, he held closed-door discussions with Pankaj Chaudhary, Organization General Secretary Dharampal Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak. Apart from this, separate feedback was also taken from former state president Surya Pratap Shahi and Ramapati Ram Tripathi. Pankaj Choudhary leaving for Delhi immediately after the meetings and meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah makes this entire incident more important.
Western UP under eye in cabinet expansion
At present the number of ministers in the Yogi Adityanath government is 54, whereas according to the rules this number can be up to 60. That means currently 6 posts are vacant. In such a situation, special attention is likely to be given to regional balance in the possible expansion.
At present, all three Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and State President are from Eastern Uttar Pradesh (Purvanchal). Therefore, new faces may get a chance to give more representation to Western Uttar Pradesh. The name of former state president Bhupendra Chaudhary is being said to be prominent in the race for the post of minister, while some new faces from the organization can also be included in the government.
Organization changes and pending appointments
Along with the expansion of the cabinet, there is also a possibility of change in the organization. Political appointments are pending in many corporations and commissions after the Lok Sabha elections 2024. The responsibility of these appointments has been given to Vinod Tawde. Earlier this process had slowed down due to some controversial names, but now the central leadership is preparing to complete these decisions soon and strengthen both the organization and the government.

BJP spokesperson Hero Vajpayee has described these meetings as a normal process, but the increasing movement of leaders in the party office in Hazratganj, Lucknow is indicating that something big is going to happen inside. The final decision will be taken only after the approval of the top leadership of the party in Delhi, the possibility of which is being expressed in the next few days.
