UP Cabinet: The proposal of giving honorarium of Rs 18 thousand to Shiksha Mitras and Rs 17 thousand to instructors got green signal, honorarium will be given from May 1.

Lucknow. In the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the proposal to increase the honorarium of Shikshamitras to Rs 18 thousand and that of part-time instructors to Rs 17 thousand was approved. Till now, Shikshamitras were given an honorarium of Rs 10 thousand and instructors Rs 9,9000. After the meeting, State Basic Education Minister Sandeep Singh gave information about the proposal and said that increased honorarium of Shikshamitras and instructors will be given from May 1.

The Education Minister said that when the BJP government came to power in 2017, the honorarium of Shikshamitras was increased from Rs 3500 per month to Rs 10 thousand and now it is being increased to Rs 18 thousand. This was already announced by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, after which the proposal was discussed in the cabinet meeting today and the proposal was approved.

He said that more than 27 thousand part-time instructors work in the schools of the state. In the meeting, it was also agreed to increase the honorarium of instructors from Rs 9,000 to Rs 17,000. In the meeting, the Council of Ministers approved a total of 22 proposals. In another resolution, purchase of 25 lakh tablets to distribute to students was also approved. Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said that so far 60 lakh smart phones and tablets have been distributed in the state and now the proposal to purchase 25 lakh more tablets has been approved.

Medical college will open in Ballia

Uttar Pradesh government will open a medical college in Ballia under the ‘One District, One Medical College’ scheme. This college will be opened on the land of the Prison Department. The district hospital will be merged as the medical college hospital. This proposal has been approved in the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday.

The state government is opening a medical college in every district. Work has been started by identifying land for its construction near the district headquarters. As soon as the infrastructure is completed, recognition will be taken for 100 MBBS seats here and the academic session will be started. The facility of trauma center and specialist doctors will be available in the district itself. The opening of the college will create employment opportunities for medical and paramedical staff at the local level.
