UP Encounter: Zubair, a dacoit carrying a bounty of Rs 50,000, killed in an encounter with Bulandshahr police, a policeman also injured.

Bulandshahr, 21 December. Police killed a criminal carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 after an armed encounter in Dehat Kotwali area of ​​Bulandshahr district in Uttar Pradesh. Police said that as part of the ongoing campaign against criminals, on the night of 20/21 December, the police team of Kotwali Dehat police station was checking suspicious persons and vehicles near Jasnawali on Syana Road. Meanwhile, two suspicious persons riding on a bike were seen coming, who were signaled to stop, but they did not stop and started running away while firing at the police team.

One accused absconding

Police immediately informed other police stations through RT set. While chasing the miscreants, the police team reached Selton Bamba Road, where Gulavathi police force also arrived from the front. When there was siege from both sides, the miscreants opened fire on the police with the intention of killing them. In the retaliatory firing by the police in self-defense, one miscreant was injured by the bullet, while the other miscreant escaped taking advantage of the darkness. The injured scoundrel and the injured policeman were immediately sent to the district hospital, where the doctors declared the scoundrel dead.

Police recovered these things

The deceased criminal has been identified as Azad alias Zubair alias Peter (35), resident of Umar Gordon Colony, police station Shyamnagar Lisadi Gate, district Meerut. Police claimed to have recovered an illegal pistol, live and empty cartridges and a bike from the spot. Police said that the deceased criminal Zubair alias Peter was a resident of Police Station Lisadi Gate, Meerut District, who along with his associates was wanted in the incident of robbery of mobile phone, motorcycle and cash from a person in Police Station Kotwali Dehat area on November 02, in relation to which case number 842/25 Section 309 (4) BNS is registered at Police Station Kotwali Dehat.

The accused was wanted in these cases

Apart from this, he was also wanted in the incident of theft of 18 goats from a goat farm in Gulavathi police station area on 07 October 2025, in relation to which case number 465/25 section 305/317(2)/112 BNS is registered. A reward of Rs 50,000 was announced by the Deputy Inspector General of Police on the arrest of Zubair, who was wanted in both these cases. A total of 49 cases, including robbery, dacoity, theft and Gangster Act, are said to have been registered against the dead criminal in police stations of various districts.
