Lucknow. Yogi Adityanath government has taken a big step to strengthen the security and self-reliance of women in Uttar Pradesh. Under ‘Mission Shakti’, such a comprehensive campaign is being run in the state, the aim of which is to make every workplace completely safe and respectable for women.
Awareness campaign going on in the entire state
Under this campaign, awareness about the laws and rights related to women’s safety is being spread in all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Along with government offices, private institutions, colleges, self-help groups and people associated with the legal sector are also being included in this. The government has a clear message that any form of harassment or unequal treatment at the workplace will not be tolerated.
Special training regarding POSH law
Under the programme, women and institutions are being given information about the law related to ‘Protection from Sexual Harassment at Workplace’, commonly known as POSH Act. Under this, it has been made mandatory to form an internal complaints committee in every institution where there are 10 or more employees, so that complaints can be resolved immediately.
Arrangement for fast and transparent action
The government has also ensured that prompt action is taken on any complaint. As per the rules, the investigation process has been kept time bound, so that the victim can get justice quickly. Also, the identity of the complainant is kept completely confidential, so that there is no pressure of any kind.
Emphasis on women empowerment
This campaign is not limited to security only, but is also focusing on making women economically strong. In this they are being given information about many important rights like:
Right to equal pay for equal work.
Maternity leave and health care benefits.
Information about banking, insurance and government schemes.
Training programs to increase financial literacy.
Steps towards a secure future for daughters.
This campaign of Yogi Adityanath government is not only working towards providing a safe environment to women, but is also emphasizing on making them self-reliant.
