Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh government has taken an important decision in the interest of farmers and cattle herders of Bundelkhand region. New projects have been approved to strengthen the dairy sector in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The main objective of these schemes is to increase the production, storage and processing capacity of milk in the area, so that the cattle farmers can get better market and fair price.
New dairy plant to be built in Banda
The government has decided to set up a new dairy plant with a capacity of 20 thousand liters per day in Banda district. With the construction of this plant, local farmers will get a reliable center to sell their milk. Currently, many times farmers have to suffer losses due to milk not being sold at the right time, but this problem can be reduced to a great extent with the new plant.
Jhansi dairy plant will expand
Along with this, it has also been decided to increase the capacity of the already operating dairy plant in Jhansi. At present the capacity of this plant is 10 thousand liters per day, which will be increased to 30 thousand liters per day. This will also provide better opportunities to milk producers from nearby districts to sell their products.
The project work was handed over to this company
The responsibility of construction and machinery related work of both these projects has been given to Indian Dairy Machinery Company Limited. The company will complete these projects on turn-key basis, that is, it will handle the entire work from construction to installation of machines. For this, payment will also be made to the company as per rules, the expense of which will be borne by the state government.
Farmers and local people will benefit
With this initiative of the government, the problem of milk spoilage in Bundelkhand can be reduced to a great extent. Increasing processing capacity will also increase the chances of farmers getting better prices for their milk. Also, with the commencement of these projects, new employment opportunities will be created in the area. This step will not only help in increasing the income of farmers, but can also play an important role in strengthening the economy of the state.
