Lucknow, 10 December. Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary SP Goyal, while reviewing the preparations for the National Lok Adalat to be held in all the districts of the state on December 13, gave detailed instructions to all the District Magistrates through video conferencing. He told the officers that to make this the most successful Lok Adalat till date, special attention should be paid to identifying maximum number of pre-litigation cases and their timely disposal, so that quick, accessible and affordable justice can be ensured to the common man.
The Chief Secretary directed that a wide publicity campaign should be run to make information about Lok Adalat available to as many people as possible. All departments should complete preparations by pre-identifying their respective issues. He said that a day before the Lok Adalat, a public awareness campaign should be run by the Tehsil administration, so that maximum people can take advantage of it. Also, the outline of the event should be strengthened by holding a meeting with the members of the Bar Association.
Successful organization of 3 National Lok Adalats so far this year
SC Goyal said that till now three National Lok Adalats have been successfully organized under the direction of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), New Delhi in the year 2025, in which Uttar Pradesh has achieved a remarkable achievement by disposing of the maximum number of cases as compared to other states. He said that this success is the result of the collective efforts of the courts, district and police administration, advocate community and all the departments. It is expected to work with the same coordination in the upcoming Lok Adalat also.
Total 3 so far in 2025,35,21,Successful disposal of 803 cases
On this occasion, Special Secretary Justice Bal Krishna N. Ranjan informed that 1,08,39,303 cases were disposed of on March 8, 2025, 1,04,80,957 cases were disposed of on May 10, 2025, and 1,22,01,543 cases were disposed of on September 13, 2025. Thus, a total of 3,35,21,803 cases have been successfully disposed of so far in the year 2025, which includes both pre-litigation and pending cases.
