UP News: Eight lakh students in UP will have their fees reimbursed this month, the department is getting the data verified.

Lucknow. 8 lakh students of Uttar Pradesh will have their fees reimbursed this month. For this, the Social Welfare Department is getting the final verification of the data done. NIC has been asked to complete the investigation process soon. In the state, there is a provision to compensate the fees with scholarship for the students of SC-ST families with annual income of Rs 2.5 lakh and students of other categories of families with annual income of Rs 2 lakh. Social Welfare Department makes payments for Scheduled Caste and General Category students.

According to officials, 16 lakh students have been given the benefit of the scheme in the current financial year. 8 lakh students are still left to get the benefits of the scheme. Their data is also being examined. Preparations are on to send funds to the accounts of these students by mid-March. Officials say the department has adequate budget. So all eligible students are likely to get paid. Let us tell you, SC students are jointly paid by the Center and the State. In this, the central share is 60 percent and the state share is 40 percent. At the same time, the state government pays for general category students from its own resources.
