UP is rapidly moving towards energy sector reforms, increasing digital consumer reach
UP News: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is rapidly moving towards reforms in the energy sector. Smart metering, DT and feeder meters are expanding rapidly. Digital is increasing consumer reach. This step increases transparency. It reduces losses, improves billing accuracy. Strengthens the electricity network. This makes the state a model for efficient, consumer-centric power distribution.
Emerging as a model in UP
Under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is witnessing rapid and widespread technological change in the energy sector. The year 2025 has proved to be an important year for smart metering, transparency and protection of consumer interests for the state’s electricity system. The energy policy of the Yogi government has made the power distribution system more efficient, transparent and technology-enabled. Due to this, Uttar Pradesh is emerging as a model for the country.
Plans were implemented effectively
So far 68,24,654 smart meters have been installed in the state. At the same time, Uttar Pradesh has continuously registered a strong presence in the field of solar energy. Under PM Surya Ghar Yojana, 3,20,187 solar energy installations have been completed in the state. Giving priority to reforms in the energy sector, the state government has effectively implemented the schemes keeping consumers at the center.
Accurate monitoring of power consumption
Smart metering project under digital technology is not only going to bring transparency in electricity distribution but also a significant increase in revenue collection has been recorded. A total of 3,09,78,280 smart meters have been approved in Uttar Pradesh. Of these, 68,24,654 meters have been installed. Through smart meters, accurate monitoring of electricity consumption has become possible and the billing process has become more reliable.
