Municipal Commissioner in action: Rishi Raj went on a bicycle tour after taking charge, took stock of the city, gave these instructions regarding street lights

Mayank Sharma, Firozabad. IAS officer Rishi Raj, who was transferred from the post of Chief Development Officer of Ayodhya to become the Municipal Commissioner of Firozabad city, took charge on Tuesday. He toured the city on a bicycle in the dark of the night and also took feedback on what problems are there. He said that work will be done as per the intention of the government.

Rishi Raj also said that after visiting in the dark of night, it was found that street lights were not working at many places. Instructions have been given to get them fixed. Rishi Raj is a 2017 batch IAS officer. He has been newly posted as Municipal Commissioner in Firozabad. Earlier, he was posted as Chief Development Officer of Ayodhya district. On Tuesday, he took charge as Municipal Commissioner. During the day, he talked to subordinate officers and took feedback of the work from them. He also met councilors and other representatives and learned about the problems of the area.

At night, he toured many parts of the city on a bicycle and tried to understand the problems of the area. During this, seeing darkness at many places, he instructed the subordinate officers to get the faulty lights repaired immediately. He also inquired about cleanliness and water supply. Municipal Commissioner Rishi Raj said that information about faulty street lights in many areas was received through IGRS. Instructions have been given to get them repaired after inspecting them on the spot. During this, his security personnel and municipal corporation staff were also present.
