UP News: Petition for withdrawal of case in Akhlaq mob lynching rejected by court, next hearing on January 6
Lucknow. Hearing was held today in the matter of withdrawal of Akhlaq Mob Lynching Case. In the case, the fast-track court (FTC) rejected the prosecution’s application for withdrawal of the case, considering it frivolous and baseless.

The date of Tuesday was given for the application filed by the prosecution in the case. The court heard both the sides. The court also said that the next hearing in the case will be held on January 6. Also, the court has said that there will be a daily hearing in the case. During this, the prosecution was further instructed to record the statements of the witnesses. Also directed the Police Commissioner and DCP Greater Noida to provide security to the witnesses if they require security.
Akhlaq’s family advocates Yusuf Saifi and Andalib Naqvi said that the court has rejected the petition filed by the prosecution. Time given for hearing is 6th January. Let us tell you that in October this year, the state government’s advocate argued in the court that withdrawal of the case would restore social harmony.
