UP Outsourced Employees New Rules: Yogi government strict on weekly leave and salary security of outsourced workers, know details
Lucknow. The Yogi government of UP has taken historic steps to protect the interests of lakhs of outsourced and part-time workers who play an important role in the development of the state. This information was given by Minister of State for Social Welfare (Independent Charge) Aseem Arun on Friday on the occasion of ‘Labour Day’.

Aseem Arun said that under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, through new labor codes and formation of ‘Outsourced Services Corporation’, the government has made the process of holidays, working hours and salary payment transparent and mandatory for these employees. He clarified that now exploitation of employees will not be possible and their rights have been provided legal protection.
The aim of our government is ‘Antyodaya’. Outsourcing employees are the backbone of our system, and providing them social security and respect is our priority. Today, on Labor Day, this reform is a symbol of the value of their sweat and our commitment towards their rights.
mandatory paid weekly leave
According to the new rules, it will now be illegal to employ any outsourced or contract employee for seven consecutive days.

Weekly Holidays: It is mandatory to give 1 day paid leave after 6 days of continuous work.
Working Time: Daily working hours have been fixed at 8 to 9. If more work is done than this, overtime will be payable as per rules.

Leave rules have been comprehensively improved for the mental and physical well-being of employees:
Casual leave : 10 days per year.

Sick leave: 15 days on completion of 6 months of service.
Earned leave : 15 days per year (with the facility of carry forward for the next year).
maternity leave : Strict adherence to the rules of maternity leave for women employees will be ensured.
Pay Security and Digital Transparency
The wage structure in Uttar Pradesh has been reformed in accordance with the new labor codes of the Government of India.
Basic Pay : There will be a minimum of 50% of the total salary (CTC), which will lead to a significant increase in the PF and gratuity fund of the employees.

Timely Payment: To ensure transparency, it has been made mandatory to deposit the salary directly into the bank account between 1st and 5th of every month.
Impact of ‘Outsourced Service Corporation’
Through this corporation, which came into effect from April 1, 2026, exploitation of middlemen is being completely eliminated.
Minimum wage : The new rates have been set starting at ₹11,000+ for unskilled workers and ₹13,500+ for skilled workers.
Equal work-equal pay: The government is implementing the service conditions giving priority to the principle of ‘equal work-equal pay’.
