UP Panchayat Elections 2026: Big update regarding voter list

Azamgarh: The date for the final publication of the voter list for the three-tier Panchayat elections in Uttar Pradesh has been fixed. District Election Officer and District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar said that this time the final voter list will be published on 15 April 2026. This process is being done under the comprehensive revision of electoral rolls of three-tier Panchayats as per the instructions of the State Election Commission.

Voter list update process

The process of revision of voter list will be completed in several phases:

Disposal of claims and objections (1 January – 16 March)

During this period, voters can make corrections, additions or submit any dispute in their name in the form of an application. All claims and objections will be resolved. After this, handwritten manuscripts will be prepared and submitted to the office of the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer. The process of investigation and disposal of possible duplicate voters will also take place at the same time.

Computerization of Supplementary List and Polling Station Determination (21 February – 16 March)

After disposal of claims/objections, the supplementary lists will be computerized. These will be included in the main voter list. Also, the process of determining polling centers and polling places will begin.

Preparation of final form of voter list (17 March – 13 April)

In this phase, polling stations and polling places will be numbered. Voter number allocation and SVN will be determined. Downloading and photocopy of the list will be prepared.

Work will continue even during public holidays

The District Magistrate has clarified that the concerned offices will remain open even on public holidays to complete the work as per the prescribed timetable. Its objective is to ensure that the comprehensive revision of the voter list is completed on time and there is no hindrance in the three-tier Panchayat elections.
