Let us tell you that according to the report, out of 90 candidates contesting in the by-election, 29 (32 percent) have disclosed in their affidavits that 'criminal cases' have been registered against them. Of them, 24 (27 per cent) have 'serious criminal cases' registered against them. The report includes 25 independent candidates as well as candidates supported by regional and national parties.
