Train Cancelled: If you are planning to travel by train in the next few days, then this news is important for you. The track repair work of the Ganga bridge on the Kanpur-Lucknow railway route in Uttar Pradesh will continue for the next 42 days from April 2. Due to this maintenance, the schedule of many other trains including premium trains like Vande Bharat and Shatabdi Express will be adversely affected. According to the Railways, during the ongoing work, many trains may get canceled or may run late from their scheduled time. Although this is a very busy route of UP, hence passengers may have to face problems during the journey.
Route of these trains changed
- Swarna Shatabdi Express (12004) from New Delhi to Lucknow will no longer go through its old route via Etawah and Kanpur. Instead this train will now reach Lucknow via Ghaziabad and Moradabad.
- The routes of some other major long distance trains have also been changed. Trains like Lokmanya Tilak-Gorakhpur and Panvel-Gorakhpur will now run via Prayagraj and Ayodhya instead of their normal route.
- Vande Bharat Express (22426) going from Anand Vihar to Ayodhya Cantt has also been diverted via Moradabad and Lucknow.

More than half a dozen local trains were canceled
Due to this work which will continue for the next 42 days, the biggest problem will be faced by those passengers who travel by local trains daily. Keeping in view the convenience of passengers, Railways has completely canceled about half a dozen trains. These canceled trains include main trains like Lucknow-Jhansi Memu, Rae Bareli Passenger, Kanpur-Lucknow Memu and Kanpur-Sitapur Passenger. Due to closure of these trains running on local routes, daily commuters will now have to look for other options for travel.
Route of Kasganj-Lucknow Express changed
According to railway information, Kasganj-Lucknow Express will now go only till Anwarganj station instead of its entire journey. This means that this train will not reach Lucknow and will return from there. Along with this, the route of Agra Fort-Lucknow Express has also been changed.
