UP Rudras claimed three points with a 2-0 win over Team Gonasika in the Hockey India League (HIL) at the Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium in Rourkela on Tuesday.
After two gruelling quarters, the Rudras broke the deadlock in the third quarter by converting two penalty corners. Tanguy Cosyns scored in the 37th minute when Kane Russell set him up with after receiving an injection. And then a few minutes Russell found his name on the scoreboard.
Following this win, the Rudras has 15 points in eight matches, as the table-topper Tamil Nadu Dragons, who played a game lesser than the Rudras.
