UP is becoming a ‘Startup Hub’ through this scheme of Yogi government, 27 got funding

UP Startup Samridh Scheme: Uttar Pradesh is now recognized not only for its population or traditional industries, but also for its rapidly emerging startup ecosystem. The state’s strong participation in the Central Government’s ambitious SAMRIDH scheme (Startup Accelerator of MeitY for Product Innovation, Development and Growth) has added a new dimension in this direction. This scheme is being run with the aim of giving impetus to technology-based startups and giving them a strong identity in the market.

4 accelerators selected at national level

10 accelerators from Uttar Pradesh had applied under SAMRIDH scheme. Selection of 4 of these accelerators at the national level is being considered a big achievement for the state. Through these selected accelerators, 35 startups of the state received acceleration support, while 27 startups received direct funding.

This selection is an indication that the startup ecosystem of Uttar Pradesh is now meeting the national standards in terms of quality and innovation.

Gained momentum from funding of Rs 9.91 crore

Under the scheme, a total funding of Rs 9.91 crore was provided to startups of Uttar Pradesh. This amount is mainly given for product development, technology upgradation and market expansion. SAMRIDH scheme has a provision of matching funding up to a maximum of Rs 40 lakh to each startup, which provides strength to enterprises facing financial challenges in the early stages.

Startups in the state are active in sectors like healthtech, edutech, agritech, fintech and software services. This shows that Uttar Pradesh is now moving beyond traditional industries towards an innovation-based economy.

Strong base from UP Startup Policy

The ‘UP Startup Policy’ implemented under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has played an important role in improving the entrepreneurship environment in the state. Initiatives like better infrastructure, incubation centres, mentorship support and single window system have inspired the youth to start startups.

Experts believe that if this pace continues, Uttar Pradesh can make a strong mark among the major technology and startup centers of the country in the coming years. The success achieved in SAMRIDH scheme is proving to be an important milestone in this direction.
