UP Weather: Weather of UP will change due to the effect of western disturbance, chances of rain from 22nd

Lucknow, 19 January. Due to the influence of continuously active western disturbances, a gradual increase in temperature will be recorded in Uttar Pradesh during the next 48 hours. Along with this, there is a possibility of reduction in dense fog also. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain in the state from January 22. Senior scientist of the Meteorological Center Atul Kumar Singh said that the decline in night temperature which was being seen for the last few days, has now stopped.

However, despite a slight increase, partial cold wave conditions persisted in the central parts of the state, Hardoi, Amethi, Ayodhya and Barabanki on Saturday night. He said that due to western disturbance there has been a change in the wind direction, due to which the temperature is likely to increase by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius in the next 24 to 48 hours. This will provide relief from the cold wave at night and the dense fog prevailing in the state is expected to gradually reduce after January 20.

After this, due to the effect of an active western disturbance, a period of rain may start in western Uttar Pradesh from January 22, which will later reach eastern UP. Due to this, there is a possibility of significant improvement in the ongoing cold situation in the state. There was dense fog in many areas of the state on Monday morning. Zero visibility was recorded in Moradabad, Aligarh, Bareilly, Gorakhpur (IAF), Barabanki, Kanpur (IAF) and Azamgarh. At the same time, visibility at Lucknow airport was only 50 meters.

According to the Meteorological Department, the area and intensity of fog increased in the morning as per forecast. Fog remained prevalent in most parts of the state, while its impact was relatively less in some areas of north-west and south-west UP. According to the data, very dense fog (zero visibility) was recorded in Ghaziabad, Bareilly and Kanpur, while visibility was 50 to 100 meters in Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Varanasi and Prayagraj.

Talking about temperature, Hardoi was the coldest district of the state, where the minimum temperature was recorded at 3.5 degrees Celsius, which is 5.3 degrees below normal. Fursatganj recorded a minimum temperature of 3.7 degrees, while Barabanki, Ayodhya and Meerut recorded a minimum temperature of 4 degrees Celsius. According to meteorologists, the huge difference in day and night temperatures is causing problems for people.

The maximum temperature in Lucknow was recorded at 23.4 degrees and the minimum at 6.4 degrees Celsius. The weather in Lucknow will be mainly clear, later it may become partly cloudy. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 24 degrees and the minimum is likely to be 9 degrees Celsius. A warning of dense fog has been issued during late night and early morning.
