There will be three days holiday in UP on Holi, CM ordered to pay salaries to employees before the festival.
When is Holi? Preparations for Holi have started across the country. Chips, papad, gujiya etc. have started being made in homes, but this time due to lunar eclipse on Holi, there is a situation of disharmony. However, CM Yogi Adityanath has given strict instructions to the officials before Holi. In which orders have been given to pay their salaries to the employees before the festival.

According to news agency PTI, in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed all officials to pay the salaries of regular, outsourcing, contract workers and sanitation workers before Holi, and has also warned that any kind of negligence will not be tolerated; February 28, 2026 (Saturday) has been declared a working day, March 3, 2026 will be a holiday for employees, and March 2, 3 and 4 will be Holi holidays.
When will Holi be played?
The first lunar eclipse of the year is also going to occur on the day of Holika Dahan i.e. 3 March 2026. The lunar eclipse will last from 3:21 pm to 6:46 pm. But, there will be no change in the date of Holika Dahan due to the eclipse as the lunar eclipse will end at 06:47 pm. In such a situation, Holika Dahan can be done after 6.47 pm. At the same time, colorful Holi i.e. Dhulendi will be celebrated on 4 March 2026.
