Lucknow, June 3. A total of 24 proposals were approved in the Yogi Adityanath-led UP cabinet meeting held on Wednesday evening. In this series, major decisions related to jail, transport, agriculture and law departments were approved by the cabinet. After the meeting, Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna informed the press about the cabinet decisions.
In the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet meeting, on one hand the minimum support price of maize was increased and on the other hand there was a huge increase in the remuneration of government lawyers. Giving a gift to the bus passengers in the state, it has been announced to run 1725 new buses while the authority will now regularize the district panchayat map passed in the area of development authorities.
1725 new buses will run in 17 Municipal Corporations and Noida
The Cabinet passed the biggest proposal of the Transport Department. Under this, a total of 1725 new buses will be run in 17 municipal corporation areas of the state and Noida. These also include buses connecting Jewar Airport. For this, special purpose vehicle i.e. special purpose company will be formed in 16 municipal corporations. This company will operate the buses.

Tremendous increase in honorarium of government lawyers
Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said that a strong increase has also been made in the honorarium and monthly allowance of state law officers i.e. government lawyers. According to the new rate, now the district government advocate will get retainer fee of Rs 14 thousand per month and debate fee of Rs 2500 per working day. Additional District Government Advocate will get a retainer of Rs 11,000 and a debate fee of Rs 2,300. The honorarium of Assistant District Government Advocate has been fixed at Rs 10 thousand and that of Sub District Government Advocate has been fixed at Rs 9 thousand.
The salary for Namika Advocate, Special Advocate and Justice Finance Civil Criminal has been fixed at Rs 2300 per working day. The Advocate General will get debate fees of Rs 1.25 lakh per month and Rs 60 thousand per working day. Additional Advocate General will get a retainer of Rs 50 thousand and debate fee of Rs 40 thousand. The Additional Advocate General posted in the Supreme Court will also get a retainer of Rs 50,000 and a debate fee of Rs 50,000. Chief Standing Advocate will be given a retainer fee of Rs 35 thousand and Additional Chief Standing Advocate, Additional Government Advocate and Additional Public Prosecutor will be given a retainer fee of Rs 20 thousand per month.
Six proposals passed for jails, Five new jails will be built
The cabinet approved six proposals related to the jail department. Jail Minister Dara Singh Chauhan said that five new prisons will be built in the state. These jails will be established in Moradabad, Lalitpur, Auraiya, Kanpur and Bhadohi. This will reduce the pressure of the increasing number of prisoners in jails. At present there are about 86 thousand prisoners in the jails of Uttar Pradesh.
Decision to give compensation to the families of the deceased prisoners also
The cabinet also decided to give compensation to the families of the deceased prisoners in accordance with the orders of the Human Rights Commission. Now, if a prisoner dies in a mutual fight, the family will get Rs 5 lakh. Even in case of death of employees due to negligence, a compensation of Rs 5 lakh will be given. In case of suicide, the family of the deceased will get Rs 3 lakh.
Maize support price increased by Rs 175
Giving relief to the farmers, the government has increased the minimum support price of maize by Rs 175. Now the government will buy maize at the rate of Rs 2400 per quintal. Earlier this rate was Rs 2225.
Civil Supplies Minister Manoj Pandey said that the procurement will take place from June 15 to July 31. For this, 150 purchasing centers will be opened across the state. The government aims to purchase 25 thousand metric tons of maize. Payment to farmers will be made directly into their bank accounts within 48 hours. The minister said that good support price will increase the inclination of farmers towards maize production.
New Sub Registrar Office in Lucknow
Under another decision of the cabinet, a new sub-registrar office will be built in Mohanlalganj, Lucknow. This office will be built in an area of 953 square meters. For this, land will be given on lease for 90 years. This will facilitate the people of Mohanlalganj and surrounding areas in the work related to registry and documents.
Map will be regularized
The Development Authority will regularize all the maps passed in the District Panchayat and Development Authority area by March 31, 2026. This decision will give legitimacy to lakhs of constructions in the state and will end the ongoing problems due to irregular construction.
New electric buses will run in 18 cities of the state
The Cabinet approved the important proposal to operate air-conditioned electric city buses on Gross Cost Contract (GCC) model in 18 cities of the state. Energy Minister Arvind Kumar Sharma said that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the increasing urbanization in the state, transportation needs of the citizens and environmental protection.
The Energy Minister said that it was proposed to run a total of 1725 e-buses in Agra, Aligarh, Ayodhya, Bareilly, Firozabad, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Kanpur, Lucknow, Mathura-Vrindavan, Meerut, Moradabad, Prayagraj, Shahjahanpur, Saharanpur, Varanasi and Noida (including Jewar), out of which 743 electric buses are already being operated. Apart from this, 500 electric buses will be operated. Electric buses will be operated in a phased manner.
This will provide safe, accessible, air-conditioned and environment-friendly public transport facilities to the citizens. This will also reduce air and noise pollution and will help in reducing the carbon footprint of the state. He said that this ambitious scheme will create about 10,500 direct and 35,000 indirect employment opportunities. This decision is an important step to move Uttar Pradesh towards a green, modern and world-class urban transport system.
