Lucknow, 11 February. The ruling BJP government led by Yogi Adityanath presented the budget for the financial year 2026-27 in the UP Assembly on Wednesday. This is the 10th full budget of the Yogi government and the last of its second term.
Our government has achieved all-round development – Finance Minister Suresh Khanna
Presenting the budget of Rs 9,12,696.35 crore in the state assembly, Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said, ‘During the past and present period of our government, there has been development in every direction in the state, be it strengthening law and order, increasing infrastructure facilities, industrial investment, employment generation, women empowerment, skill development of youth, prosperity of farmers and eradicating poverty.’
Budget size 12.9 percent more than last year
This budget presented in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is 12.9 percent more than last year. The government has allocated 12.4 percent of the budget to education and six percent to medicine. Keeping the fiscal deficit limit at 3 percent, the government has given priority to schemes like ‘Tech Yuva-Samarth Yuva’ for the youth and free electricity for farmers. Through this budget, a target has been set to give new impetus to the economy of the state.
per capita income now Rs 1,09,844, unemployment rate reduced to 2.24 percent
This budget of the state has crossed the figure of Rs 9 lakh crore. The Finance Minister said that the per capita income of the state has now reached Rs 1,09,844, which is more than double as compared to 2016-17. The government aims to reach Rs 1,20,000 by 2025-26. An increase of 13.4 percent has been recorded in the GSDP of the state and the unemployment rate has come down to only 2.24 percent. Uttar Pradesh has now become the largest mobile phone manufacturing center in the country.
Employment for youth and AI mission
For the youth, the government has launched ‘Tech Yuva-Samarth Yuva’ scheme and AI mission. So far, more than 2,19,000 recruitments have been made in the police department and the process is going on for 83,122 posts.

Under the Chief Minister Youth Entrepreneur Development Campaign, the target is to establish one lakh micro enterprises every year by giving interest-free loans to the youth. So far, about 50 lakh tablets and smartphones have been distributed under the Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme.
Free electricity and gifts to farmers
For the welfare of farmers, the government has continued to supply free electricity for irrigation from tube wells. A record amount of Rs 3,04,321 crore has been paid to sugarcane farmers. The price of sugarcane has been increased by Rs 30 per quintal for the crushing season 2025-26, which will provide additional profit of Rs 3000 crore to the farmers. Rs 94,668 crore has been sent directly to the accounts of 3.12 crore farmers through the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi.
women empowerment and ‘Safe City’
CCTV network and anti Romeo squad have been strengthened under the ‘Safe City’ project for the safety and self-reliance of women. Construction of Working Women Hostel and providing benefits to 26.81 lakh girls under Mukhyamantri Sumangala Yojana is the priority of the government. Under ‘Mahila Samarthi Yojana’, milk producer companies are being formed in the field of milk production. Women sugarcane farmers are also being given priority in issuing slips.
Technology and future plans
The government has decided to establish ‘State Data Authority’ and ‘Data Center Clusters’ in the state. ‘New and Emerging Technology Mission’ will be created for emerging technologies. Along with this, ‘City Economic Region’ scheme is being brought for industrial development. The process of registration and licensing will be further simplified to promote industries. It is also proposed to create accident insurance and labor bases for workers registered on the e-Shram portal.
