Delhi: Former Uttar Pradesh minister and Ranji cricketer Mohsin Raza has made serious allegations against the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA). He said that corruption and money transactions are taking place in the selection process. According to Raza, if a player wants to be selected in Under-16, Under-19, Under-23 and Ranji team, then he has to pay Rs 6 lakh, 20 lakh, 30 lakh and 30 to 50 lakh respectively. He met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and complained about these allegations and demanded an investigation into the corruption taking place in the association.

Raza alleges that the nature of UP Cricket Association has changed and now it has become a private limited company, which has the support of big Congress leaders. He told that in 2005, with the help of Congress leader Jyoti Bajpai, the association was converted into a private limited company and it was taken over by someone close to the Congress leader. After this, the youth are being exploited by taking money and luring them into playing cricket.

Raza said that the selection system of UP Cricket Association has collapsed and it is playing with the future of children. UPCA ACEO Ankit Chatterjee has talked about investigation on these allegations and said that a detailed response will be given soon.
