Upcoming Mid-Size SUVs in India 2026:The battle for the mid-size SUV segment in the Indian automobile market has reached a new turning point. Following the Tata Sierra and Maruti e-Vitara, three more major players are poised to enter the fray. While the Renault Duster is making a comeback with its new generation, the new Skoda Kushaq and Toyota’s electric missile, the Urban Cruiser Ebella, are eager to capture customers’ hearts.
With powerful features like advanced ADAS technology, a panoramic sunroof, and a range of over 500 km, these vehicles will not only pose a tough competition to the Hyundai Creta but will also redefine luxury and performance.
All-new Renault Duster
The Renault Duster, which ushered in SUV culture in India, is now officially launching its third generation on March 17, 2026. This new Duster is now more high-tech and muscular than ever before. It features a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with a full map view.
For safety, it features 17 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Initially, it will be offered with powerful 1.0- and 1.3-liter turbo petrol engines. However, for speed enthusiasts, a powerful hybrid system based on the 1.8-liter petrol engine may be added by the end of the year, providing exceptional fuel efficiency.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella
Toyota is poised to make a splash in the EV segment with its first large electric SUV, the Urban Cruiser Ebella. This car is a premium and polished version of Maruti’s e-Vitara, with a look heavily inspired by European styling. It features stylish 18-inch alloy wheels and a sleek front grille.

This SUV will come with two battery pack options. Its base variant will offer a range of 440 kilometers, while the top-end variant will be able to travel up to 543 kilometers on a single charge. Launched by the end of March, this car is ideal for those who want both petrol-free driving and Toyota’s reliability.
New Skoda Kushaq Facelift
Skoda is introducing its most successful SUV, the Kushaq, in a new facelift. The 2026 model’s biggest highlight is its 8-speed automatic transmission, a segment-first. Furthermore, Skoda has also added massaging rear seats to make long journeys more comfortable, a segment-first feature.
The new Kushaq also features a panoramic sunroof and disc brakes on all four wheels. Its 10.25-inch digital driver display and sharp exterior design make it a distinctive presence on the road. This premium SUV is also set to hit the streets this March.
