Updated Mercedes AMG G63 Launched In India At 3.60 Crore

After a few months of the international launch, Mercedes Benz has launched the AMG G63 in the Indian market as well at a starting price of Rs 3.60 crore (ex-showroom). It gets a few cosmetic updates and some major technological changes. Here is everything you need to know about the new AMG G63.

To start with, the exterior remains the same but Mercedes has added some very neat features. There is a new grille, new lower grilles on the bumper as well and aerodynamic elements on the top of the vehicle and around the A-pillars which help reduce wind noise. There are new LED headlights and taillights as well and the changes on the outside end here.

Most of the changes lie underneath the skin of the vehicle. The interior has also remained more or less the same but it features a new infotainment system with the latest MBUX NTG7 infotainment system and there are new camera software too which will alloy you to look through the hood of the vehicle to have a better idea off-road. Mercedes has also added new ADAS functions to the vehicle to make it safer.

Unlike most facelifts, the biggest change has been done mechanically. The 4.0L twin turbocharged V8 engine is the same one we love and adore but now it features a 48-volt mild hybrid system as well. It produces 576 bhp and 850 Nm of torque. The mild hybrid system adds another 20 bhp and 200 Nm of torque. This allows this massive brick of a vehicle to do 0-100 kmph in 4.3 seconds and achieve a top speed of 240 kmph.

Another big change is the new suspension system. The new G63 features AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension which replaces the sway bars with individual hydraulically controlled valves on each damper and the valves can isolate each corner which means the resulting effect is not sent to other wheels.

Mercedes has launched the new G63 at a starting price of Rs 3.60 crore (ex-showroom). This is before any options, and customers can choose from 31 Exclusive Manufaktur upholstery and 29 paint options. The first batch has already been sold out which consists of over 120 vehicles but Mercedes has opened bookings for Q3 of 2025.
