UPI Payment- Does money fail and get deducted while making UPI payment, know the reason for this
Friends, in today’s modern era, money transaction has become very easy, you can send money to anyone from anywhere through UPI, but many times it happens when a payment either fails or gets stuck in “pending” status. The situation becomes more stressful when money is deducted from your bank account, but the recipient does not receive the money, let us know about the reasons behind this-
1. Network connectivity problems
A weak or unstable internet connection during the payment process may interfere with the transaction, causing it to fail or remain pending.
2. Server Downtime
Sometimes, bank servers or UPI systems undergo maintenance or face technical issues. During this time, transactions may not be processed successfully.
3. Higher load on the system during peak hours
During festivals, sale days or when transaction traffic is high, the UPI network may be overloaded. This may cause delays in payment processing or transactions may fail.
4. API gateway failure
UPI apps and banking systems interact with each other through API gateways. If there is any interruption in this communication channel, the transaction cannot be completed successfully.
UPI transaction failed but money deducted? Know the refund rules
In many cases, money is deducted from your account even if the transaction fails. Normally, such transactions are reversed automatically.
According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), if a UPI transaction fails after the money is deducted, the money should be returned to your account within T+1 working days.
So, if your payment gets stuck or fails, there is no need to panic immediately. Most problems resolve on their own within a certain period of time.
