This festive season UPI did wonders, broke the record of online transactions
New Delhi : UPI is being used rapidly in our country for online transactions. This app has been used extensively for payments in this festive season, due to which this payment system is becoming an example in the whole world. UPI i.e. Unified Payment Interface is seeing growth day by day. According to the information given by NPCI on Friday, in the month of October, about 16.58 billion transactions were done through UPI in the country, the total value of which is said to be Rs 23.5 lakh crore. This is the biggest figure for UPI since its inception in April 2016.
National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) has presented the data related to this yesterday itself. On the basis of which it has been found that in comparison to the month of September, there has been an increase of about 10 percent in the number of transactions in the month of October and only 14 percent increase in the price. In the last month i.e. the month of October, the number of daily UPI transactions was 535 million. During this period, the value of daily average transactions was Rs 75,801 crore, whereas in the month of September, the average daily transaction number was 501 million and the value was Rs 68,800 crore.
aadhaar inbuilt payment system
According to NPCI data, there were 126 million transactions on the Aadhaar enabled payment system in the month of October, which is 26 percent more than 100 million in the month of September. The digital payment system in India is growing rapidly day by day. In March 2021, the share of digital transactions in consumer spending was 14 to 19 percent, which has now increased rapidly to 40 to 48 percent.

UPI transaction cost
The number of UPI based transactions has increased by 52 percent to 78.97 billion in the first 6 months of this year i.e. April to September, which was 51.9 billion in the same half of last year. At the same time, in the first half of this year, the value of UPI transactions has increased by 40 percent and it has increased from Rs 83.16 lakh crore to Rs 116.63 lakh crore.
