Uproar in Delhi Assembly over MCD Standing Committee elections, AAP calls murder of democracy

New Delhi. There was a huge uproar in the Delhi Legislative Assembly on Thursday over the issue of elections in Delhi Municipal Corporation. AAP MLAs said that there was murder of democracy in the corporation. LG tried to conduct elections through backdoor means. Whereas it is the responsibility of the mayor to conduct elections. BJP MLA Abhay Verma said that AAP murdered democracy in the corporation elections (Murder of Democracy Standing Committee Elections). The election date has already been announced. Then why is it not allowing the elections to take place?

Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goyal said that the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi wrongly tried to influence the elections of the Standing Committee of Delhi Municipal Corporation. It seems the Lieutenant Governor has not learned from the incident in Chandigarh. I am very saddened by this incident.
