Uproar over Akshay Khanna’s departure from ‘Drishyam 3’, producer made serious allegations, sent legal notice
News India Live, Digital Desk: Akshay Khanna’s exit from Ajay Devgan’s much talked about film ‘Drishyam 3’ has now turned into a big controversy. It is reported that the film’s producer Kumar Mangat Pathak has sent a legal notice to Akshay Khanna accusing him of ‘unprofessional’ behaviour. Pathak says that Akshay has taken the decision to leave the film at a time when only a few days were left for the shooting to begin, due to which he has suffered a lot. What is the real reason for Akshay Khanna’s exit? Initial reports said that Akshay Khanna has walked out of ‘Drishyam 3’ due to his increased fees, which was reportedly Rs 21 crore. After the success of his recent hits, ‘Chhaava’ and ‘Dhurandhar’, he had demanded an increase in his fees, but according to the makers, it would have spoiled the budget of the film. Not just the fees, according to reports, Akshaye Khanna was also adamant on wearing a wig. Producer Kumar Mangat Pathak told that Akshay was seen without a wig in ‘Drishyam 2’, hence it was not possible to suddenly change the look of his character in ‘Drishyam 3’ which will be a continuation of ‘Drishyam 2’, because it would cause continuity problems. Abhishek Pathak had tried to convince him and he had agreed, but later he talked about wearing a wig again and finally announced his decision to walk out of the film. Serious allegations of producer Kumar Mangat Pathak. Kumar Mangat Pathak, in an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama, spoke openly on the ‘unprofessional’ behavior of Akshay Khanna. He alleged that Akshay’s attitude on the set was ‘absolutely toxic’. Pathak said that he had given Akshay a chance in films like ‘Section 375’ when he was not getting work and it was only after ‘Drishyam 2’ that he started getting big projects. He also claimed that Akshaye Khanna liked the script so much that he called it a ‘Rs 500 crore film’, he had made a compromise, had also taken advance, but he left the film just 10 days before the shooting started. The producer has made it clear that he will take legal action for the loss caused by this behavior and a legal notice has been sent to Akshaye Khanna, the reply to which has not been received yet. Kumar Mangat Pathak also confirmed that now Jaideep Ahlawat has been cast in place of Akshay Khanna, and he believes that Jaideep is a better actor and a better person than Akshay. The release date of ‘Drishyam 3’ has been fixed as October 2, 2026, and now with this casting change, this film has come into even more headlines.
