UPSSSC Lekhpal Vacancy 2025 Revised Notification: A big and shocking news has come out for the youth of Uttar Pradesh regarding Lekhpal recruitment. Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has released the revised notification for Revenue Accountant Recruitment 2025. This new notification has changed the entire mathematics of recruitment. The biggest change has been made in the number of posts on the basis of category, while on one hand there is good news for Other Backward Classes (OBC), on the other hand, general category candidates are disappointed.

Huge jump in OBC posts, shock to general category

According to the revised notification issued by the Commission, now there has been a major reshuffle in the number of category wise posts. OBC candidates have got the most benefit in the recruitment process, because the number of posts for them has been increased significantly compared to earlier. On the contrary, a good number of seats have been deducted from the general category account. Let us tell you that there was a demand for increasing the posts of OBC category for a long time, taking cognizance of which the Commission has taken this step.

Application date and total posts details

Although there has been a change in the distribution of posts, there has been no change in the application process and dates. There are to be recruitment on only 7994 posts of accountant in Uttar Pradesh. Candidates who have passed the UP PET 2025 exam will be able to register themselves for this recruitment from 29 December 2025. The last date for application has been fixed as 28 January 2026. What is the new vacancy chart now?

After the revised notification, now the new mathematics of 7994 posts of Lekhpal is as follows: Now the number of seats for General Category has been reduced to 3205. At the same time, the posts of OBC category have been increased to 2158. 1679 posts have been earmarked for Scheduled Caste (SC) and 160 posts for Scheduled Tribe (ST). There is no change in the quota for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and 792 posts have been reserved for them.

What was the status of seats in the old notification?

If we look at the notifications released earlier, at that time the General Category had the maximum number of 4165 seats. Only 1441 posts were proposed for OBC, while there were 1446 posts for SC and 150 for ST. OBC category candidates had objected to this number of seats and demanded to increase it. Accepting the demand of the candidates, the Commission has redistributed the seats.

Selection process for accountant recruitment

Youth dreaming of becoming accountants through this recruitment will have to go through two main stages. The basis of selection will be written examination followed by Document Verification (DV). The most important thing is that only those students can take part in this recruitment who have given the ‘UP PET 2025’ examination and have been declared successful in it.
