US Ambassador Gore’s big statement, said- No country is as important as India for Washington
New Delhi. US Ambassador-designate Sergio Gore on Monday said no country is as important to Washington as India and the two sides are actively engaged in strengthening trade agreements. Referring to the friendship between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump at an event here, he said that true friends may disagree but always resolve their differences in the end.
“India is the largest country in the world,” he said at a function in the presence of US Embassy employees here. “So getting this to the end is no easy task, but we are determined to get it done.” “Trade is very important to our relationship, but we will also continue to work together on other important areas such as security, counterterrorism, energy, technology, education and health,” Gore said.
He said, “I have traveled all over the world with President Trump and I can say with certainty that his friendship with Prime Minister Modi is genuine.” Gore also announced that India will be a member of the ‘Pax Silica’ alliance. “I am pleased to announce that India will be invited to join this group of nations as a full member next month,” he said. The ‘PAX Silica’ alliance is a US-led strategic initiative to build a secure, resilient and innovation-based silicon supply chain.
