US attack targeting Iranian army boats in Hormuz, many dead, peace elusive in Trump’s ‘stubbornness’?
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio claimed that the Iran-US peace agreement could be reached within a few hours. But within a few hours the whole world saw the opposite picture. The US attacked the Iranian Revolutionary Guard boat near the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday morning. Four people have already died in this attack. According to the US Army, this attack was carried out in self-defense. Because those boats were laying mines under the sea.
Two IRGC boats were laying underwater mines in the Strait of Hormuz, a top US official said on condition of anonymity. As soon as it was noticed, the US military counter-attacked in self-defense. It does not end here. The official also claimed that US warplanes were being attacked from Bandar Abbas. He said that America has also fired missiles in response to Iran’s attack. Four people were initially reported dead in the US attack on the Iranian boat.
Last Sunday, Tehran agreed to the transfer of uranium keeping in mind the peace agreement. A peace treaty is imminent, said Rubio. But US President Donald Trump said he does not want to make a deal quickly. Want to progress slowly with time. Negotiations on the peace treaty were prolonged. America attacked Iran during that discussion. The question is, is the war in the Middle East not stopping because of Trump’s negligence?
However, Rubio said the attack was not linked to peace talks. However, a few hours before this attack, Trump fired a cannon at Iran and said that Tehran must hand over uranium. According to US administration sources, the attack on Iran is over. Iran’s foreign minister and other representatives have already set foot on the soil of Qatar, the mediator for the peace talks. Will there be a peace treaty at all? Will the bloody war end for three months? Hormuz shipping will be normal? The answer is unknown.
