US changes tone for PAK, Defense Secretary said ‘Trump established true friendship with Pakistan’

New Delhi: US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has given a big statement regarding the strengthening relations between Pakistan and America. During the Shangri-La Dialogue held in Singapore, he praised Pakistan’s political and military leadership and said that increasing cooperation between the two countries can prove important for regional stability.

Not only this, in his address Hegseth said that under the leadership of President Donald Trump, relations between America and Pakistan have gained new strength. Referring to the role of Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, he said that both the leaders have made positive contributions towards dialogue and peace.

He said that in recent times there has been an increase in dialogue and cooperation between Washington and Islamabad. America views Pakistan as an important partner in maintaining regional stability. During this, Hegseth also mentioned the role of President Trump in establishing peace between India and Pakistan. He said that America is in constant touch with both the countries to maintain better relations and reduce regional tensions. In response to a question asked about the missile capabilities of India and Pakistan, the US Defense Secretary said that at present America does not see these two countries as any direct threat to itself. He further said that both the countries have their own security challenges and they will continue to work to strengthen their defense capabilities.

However, he also admitted that Pakistan is developing such missile systems, whose capability may increase in the future. Despite this, America is not afraid of any immediate threat at present. Along with praising Pakistan, Hegseth also described America’s strategic partnership with India as strong. Describing India as an important pillar of South Asia, he said that both the countries are working together on many important projects in the field of defense and security.
