US-Iran Deal: Trump’s big announcement, Iran will not have nuclear weapons, Strait of Hormuz will reopen

A major peace agreement has been signed between America and Iran, which has raised hopes of ending the war. President Donald Trump has clearly said that Iran will no longer make nuclear weapons. After this agreement, the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened so that the movement of ships can resume.

Key points of the agreement

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been prepared between the two countries. Under this, military operations on all fronts including Lebanon will be stopped immediately and permanently. The agreement is expected to be officially signed on 19 June 2026.

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called it a major step towards peace in the Middle East. French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer have also welcomed the opening of the sea route. Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called it a historic step and Qatar has also praised the efforts of both the countries.

On the other hand, Israel has opposed this agreement. Israel says it is not bound by this deal and will not withdraw its troops from Lebanon. Israel made it clear that it will continue its action against Hezbollah so that Iran cannot develop nuclear weapons.

Different claims regarding funds

There is still some controversy regarding money transactions. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard says they will get half of the approximately $24 billion frozen funds before the talks. However, US officials say no money will be released until Iran fully agrees to the terms.
