• US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Tuesday could be the ‘most intense day’ of the war. Heavy explosions were heard in at least eight districts of Tehran.
• Iran’s military spokesman Abalfazal Shekarchi said that the recent attacks on civilian areas will be responded to.
• The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that there is a danger of ‘black rain’ i.e. poisonous rain due to the clouds of smoke rising after the attacks on oil depots.
• Smoke from fires at oil facilities can mix with rain clouds and produce polluted rainfall, which can have serious health effects.
• Saudi Arabia’s defense forces reported that they intercepted several waves of Iranian drones and ballistic missiles. In these, Prince Sultan Air Base and eastern areas were targeted.
• Qatar also said that its army intercepted missiles fired targeting the country. The United Arab Emirates claimed to have shot down 26 drones on Tuesday.
• UAE’s Ruwais Refinery, one of the world’s largest refineries, stopped operations as a precautionary measure after the drone attack.
