US-Iran War Update: Iran’s big claim, America’s ‘F-16’ fighter jet shot down; Increased commotion amid the Great War in the Gulf
Today, a full month has passed since Israel and America’s attacks on Iran, but instead of cooling down, the fire of war seems to be flaring further. Amidst this tense environment, Iran Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) has made a sensational claim. Iran says it has shot down another modern US F-16 fighter jet in the skies over southern Iran. If there is truth in this claim, then it could take the ongoing war in the Middle East to a very dangerous turn. Plane fell in Fars province of southern Iran? According to the official statement issued by IRGC, American F-16 fighter plane was targeted over Fars province of southern Iran. The Iranian Army claims that their indigenous air defense system responded accurately to this intrusion and destroyed the aircraft. However, the US or any independent international agency has not yet confirmed the downing of this plane, due to which there remains mystery and uncertainty about the situation. Old claims of attack on F-35 and aircraft carrier This is not the first time that Iran has claimed to cause huge damage to American military power. During the last one month, Iran has made many big claims: F-35 Stealth Fighter: Iran claims that it also targeted the world’s most advanced aircraft F-35, which later had to make an emergency landing. KC-135 Refueling Aircraft: Even after the crash of an American fuel tanker plane, Iran took responsibility for shooting it down, which the US described as a ‘technical fault’. USS Abraham Lincoln: Iran made this claim twice. Has also done that it has directly hit America’s most powerful aircraft carrier ‘USS Abraham Lincoln’. ‘Propaganda War’ caught between claims and reality. While the Iranian media is presenting these claims as its military superiority, the Pentagon (America) and Israel are rejecting these reports outright. American defense officials say that all their aircraft have returned safely after completing the mission. Experts believe that along with the battlefield, a tremendous ‘information war’ is also going on between the two sides, where such claims are being made to create psychological pressure. The attack on Kuwait Airport and the expanding scope of the war, the fire of war is no longer limited only to Iran and Israel. The recent attack on Kuwait Airport has increased the concern of the Gulf countries. On one hand, a meeting of Muslim countries is being held in Pakistan for peace, while on the other hand, claims of cutting-edge weapons and downing of fighter jets have made the path of diplomacy more difficult. If any of the US fighter jets officially fall under Iranian attack, Washington’s response could send the entire region into disaster.
