US-Israel’s major attack on Iran, blasts in Tehran; Advisory issued for Indians, know the major updates so far in the attack

According to reports, rockets were fired simultaneously at about 30 places in Iran, due to which loud explosions were heard in many areas and smoke was seen rising in the sky.
Attacks on several targets in Tehran-
According to news agency AP, rockets were fired continuously from Israel. There is news of a major explosion in the downtown area of Tehran. Many ministries and important government offices of Iran were targeted. Eyewitnesses said the impact of the attack was also felt around the office of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. However, it is not clear whether they were present there at the time of the attack or not.
Claim of ‘pre-emptive attack’-
Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz has called it a ‘pre-emptive attack’. According to him, this action was taken to neutralize the potential threat. A ‘special and permanent emergency’ has been declared across the country.
High alert in Israel, sirens echoed-
Sirens are ringing continuously in Israel amid fears of missile and drone attacks. All schools have been closed and people have been advised to stay in safe places and work from home. Both Israel and Iran have temporarily closed their airspace.
Embassy advisory for Indians-
In view of the deteriorating situation in the area, the Indian Embassy in Israel has issued an advisory. All Indian citizens have been asked to remain extremely cautious and strictly follow the safety instructions issued by the local administration and Home Front Command.
Big decision of Air India-
The closure of the airspace has also affected international flights. Air India diverted its Delhi-Tel Aviv flight (AI139) midway and called it back to Mumbai. The airline said the safety of passengers and crew is the top priority and the situation is being constantly monitored.
Other airlines also alert-
IndiGo has also said that it will keep a close watch on the situation in the airspace connected to Iran and has advised passengers to check the flight status before travelling. According to flight tracking platform ‘Flight Radar 24’, many flights have been affected.
