US Journalist falls in love with Pakistan’s hospitality & food

American journalist Caitlin Doornbos has shared glowing impressions of Pakistan following her recent visit to the capital, where she attended developments surrounding the ongoing “Islamabad Talks.”

Taking to social media, Doornbos highlighted the country’s renowned hospitality, describing it as among the warmest she has ever experienced. She particularly praised the local food scene after stepping out to explore eateries in Islamabad’s F-7 sector.

The visiting reporter expressed special admiration for traditional Pakistani breakfast, calling it her favorite meal during the trip. She also developed a liking for halwa, humorously dubbing it her “new guilty pleasure.”

Her posts quickly drew attention online, with many Pakistanis engaging warmly and encouraging her to further highlight the country’s peaceful and welcoming environment.

Beyond food, Doornbos also shared scenic views of Islamabad, noting the city’s vibrant atmosphere amid anticipation surrounding diplomatic efforts. She remarked on the optimism among locals about Pakistan’s potential role in promoting peace in the Middle East.

During her stay, the journalist was also seen embracing local culture by wearing traditional attire at Serena Hotel Islamabad.
