US markets fall after Fed decision, Asian markets trade mixed

Global markets are showing signs of weakness today. US markets closed with a significant decline in the previous session. Meanwhile, Dow Jones futures are trading with gains today.

European markets saw mixed trading in the previous session, while Asian markets are also seeing mixed trading today.

The US Federal Reserve’s decision to keep interest rates stable worsened the sentiment in the stock market and US bond market, causing Wall Street indices to suffer significant declines.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1,153.18 points, or 2.19 percent, during the regular trading session. Similarly, the S&P 500 index fell 112.63 points, or 1.52 percent, to end the previous session at 7,316.15.

Additionally, the Nasdaq closed at 24,442.94, down 433.97 points or 1.74 percent. The Dow Jones Futures are currently trading at 51,660.39, up 0.13 percent.

European markets closed with mixed results after the previous session. The FTSE index closed at 10,908.41, up 0.34 percent.

Conversely, the CAC index ended the previous session at 8,408.27, down 0.60 percent. The DAX index closed at 25,460.48, down 0.01 percent.

Asian markets are trading mixed today. Five of the nine Asian market indices are trading in the red, while four are trading in the green.

The GIFT Nifty is trading at 24,315.50 points, up 0.05 percent. Similarly, the Nikkei Index is up 300.81 points, or 0.49 percent, at 61,735 points.

The Taiwan Weighted Index has gained 489.57 points, or 1.22 percent, to reach 40,528.75 points, and the Jakarta Composite Index is trading at 6,142.38 points, up 0.84 percent.

On the other hand, the Straits Times Index is down 0.77 percent, at 5,669.14 points. Similarly, the Hang Seng Index fell 0.07 percent to 25,789 points.

The Kospi Index is seeing a major decline today. Currently, this index has slipped 99.34 points, or 1.75 percent, to 5,563.90 points.

The S&P Composite Index is also showing a weakness of 1.56 percent today. Currently, this index has reached the level of 1,599.18 points. Apart from this, the Shanghai Composite Index is trading at 3,784.55 points, falling 1.15 percent.
