US military Fires Iranian Oil Tankers Strait of Hormuz: Tension has once again reached its peak amid efforts for peace in the Middle East. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has reported that its forces have stopped two Iranian oil tankers moving towards Iran by firing at them. This incident has happened at a time when the whole world is waiting for Iran’s response to the ceasefire proposal sent by the US President.

Destroyed the rudder of the tanker

According to the US Central Command, this action has been taken in response to an attempt to violate the blockade imposed by Iran. According to the information, on May 6, the Iranian flagged ship M/T Hasna tried to sail towards an Iranian port in the Gulf of Oman.

American warship USS Abraham Lincoln An F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter aircraft flying from (CVN 72) fired several rounds from its 20mm cannon. The rudder of the oil tanker was destroyed in this attack. The American command has further said that the third Iranian ship was also destroyed on Wednesday itself and now these three ships are not moving in the direction of Iran.

Iran’s counterattack

Iran has also adopted a tough stance amid this military confrontation. The Iranian military also released a video, claiming to have fired a missile at a US warship on Wednesday. Iran says that after their missile action the American ship had to flee from that area.

America’s strict stance regarding blockade

According to Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of CENTCOM, us Army Is fully committed to strictly implementing the maritime blockade of Iran in the Middle East. Praising the work of the soldiers engaged in the mission, he said that so far more than 50 ships have been diverted and many merchant ships have been stopped to ensure compliance with the rules.
