Trump got a big blow, the court put a stay on the order of Birthright Citizenship; Know what the judge said
Obnews International Desk: An American court on Thursday put a stay on President Donald Trump's order to end the process of granting citizenship on the basis of birth right. Washington District Judge John Coffner declared Trump's executive order unconstitutional and imposed a temporary ban on its implementation. Responding to this decision, Trump said that he will appeal against this decision of the court.
According to media reports, Federal Court Justice John Coffner has accepted the emergency request of Washington State Attorney General Nick Brown and other states led by the Democratic Party. Under this decision, the order will be kept in abeyance for the next 14 days for the process of legal challenge.
Justice Coffner expressed deep concern in this matter and asked where the lawyers were when the decision to sign this order was being taken. At present, there has been a temporary stay on the order related to this decision of the court.
Expressed surprise over the validity of the order
Justice Coffner said during his statement in court that he has been on the bench for 40 years, but he cannot recall any other case in which the questions raised have been so clear-cut. He questioned the role of lawyers at the time of signing the order. He said that when the decision to sign was taken, where were the lawyers.
Violation of the 14th amendment of the Constitution
Here US President Donald Trump has expressed his reaction on this issue. Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, he said, “Absolutely, we will appeal against it.”

At the same time, Justice John Coffner commented that the President's order is 'clearly unconstitutional'. The Democratic Party-led state has alleged that Trump's order violates the 14th Amendment of the Constitution.
Will have to face negative consequences
The 14th Amendment to the US Constitution grants the right to citizenship to all children born on American soil, including children of immigrant parents. Washington lawyer Len Polozola says that nowadays many such children are being born across the country whose citizenship has been questioned. In this situation, these children deprived of citizenship may have to face many negative consequences.
Polozola said the Trump administration not only ignored potential harms in its decision, but those harms appear to be the purpose of the order. In addition to the impact on individuals, Washington and other states say ending birthright citizenship would impose a financial and logistical burden on state programs. This is because these children will no longer receive the benefits that American citizens usually receive.
